The label around the band gave me a hard drive with hours of behind-the-scenes material, which was filmed during the recording of the album SCHLAGSCHATTEN. I had complete freedom in designing the episodes.
Having lived in the US prior to the assignment, I didn't know the band when I took the job but instantly fell in love with Henning's voice. There was also something raw, something close, something emotional about the footage filmed by Lenny Rothenberg. I quickly realized that the footage was more than the result of a promotional campaign that was being mulled over by a manager in some glass building. I realized that these were friends who supported each other in what they liked best. Music, photography, film.
